Maryland Yacht Club has one of the best spectator venues on the Bay. The sailing area has wide open water, and the Club sits on top of a modest hill directly overlooking it. There is plenty of parking for all cars and trailers attending a big regatta. Unloading and rigging of boats is on a paved parking lot and beach area, and boats are dollied to a small sandy beach launch area or floating ramp, so sequencing in and out is to be expected. Coach boats can be launched at a nearby public ramp about a mile away. There is plenty of space to tie-up coach boats at the club once they have been launched. MYC has a nice covered pavilion with picnic benches, inside seating in the clubhouse, a pool, and grassy areas to enjoy while sailors are out sailing and afterwards. There is no formal food service available at MYC, but there is a nearby waterfront restaurant, convenience stores, gas stations, drug stores or hardware stores a short 5 minutes away, but its always a good idea to plan ahead accordingly. |
