Miles River Yacht Club

Miles River Yacht Club is located in St. Michael’s, MD, a delightful eastern shore location.  A large parking lot is available for unloading of travel trailers, and boats are then taken by dolly to the launching area.  Launching is done at a narrow sandy beach, so sequencing of classes in and out is typical.  Coach boats can be launched using the clubs hoist or on-site ramp.  There is plenty of space to tie-up at MRYC’s piers.  A pool is also available for sailors to use after regattas. The Miles River area in July, August and September is known for nettles (small jellyfish), so sailors typically don’t want to be in the water, although sailing on top of it is just fine!

Racing is typically held in areas directly out from the launch area or further out in the river.  Because of the terrain, spectating from land is from a distance.  MRYC has food service and a bar open during events, with indoor seating, outdoor seating, or a shady lawn area to enjoy while sailors are out on the water.  WiFi is available inside the clubhouse.  There are convenience stores, gas stations, drug stores or hardware stores just a short distance away if needed.

The boat storage field is reasonably large. If you would like to leave a trailer in the field between Eastern Shore regattas, that is fine. Just let the Club office know when you will be picking it up.
